College Admission Frequently Asked Questions
How much does applying to college cost?
Good question. Applying to 2 year, community college and trade schools are free. Applications to 4 year schools usually go for $50-$85 dollars. If you have free or reduced lunch, the career center can get you an application waiver.
How many schools should I apply for?
We recommend you apply for 1 dream school, 2-4 schools you likely get acceptance, AND a community college option. This way you have several options when it's time to decide.
What else do I submit besides my application?
All schools will need a transcript and test scores sent to the admission department. You can order a transcript at Student Services in front office. You can send test scores directly from your SAT/ACT portal.
When Should I apply?
This depends on the school but we recommend the earlier the better. Some schools have priority deadlines that also enable you to qualify for university scholarships. Try to have all applications submitted by November 31st.
